80’s Fashion in an age of awareness!!!

Today’s 80’s fashion trends are a constant reminder that fashion revolves and so does life.  We are incredibly excited to see an era of clothing a second time around, together.  We can’t help but flashback to times in the past, when our parents told us they had worn the same things we were wearing.  This is a time that is reminiscent of our youthfulness because the 80’s could have made or broken us.  We survived the 80’s and Milwaukee 53206, no pun intended, by the grace of God.  The mid to late 80’s reflects upon our fun and expressive times together as we dressed to impress one another.   We are tickled pink to see the 80’s make such a swift, stunning return. For those of us born in the mid to late 60’s to the early 70’s, this was truly our time.  Yes, you can say our age has been revealed because the 80’s decade is all about us.  And by us, we mean US.

Fashion in the 80’s was directly influenced by the Artists of our day.  We had a very bold wave of style that screamed out individuality but much of it was a result of the things we watched on Television.   The 80’s was a colorful time and the bright vibrant colors crossed all the way over into neon.  Journey with us as we go back to a time of fond memories and familiarity.  For us, this was a time when we wore geek chic glasses whether they were metal, plastic, color framed, oversized, heart shaped or diamond cut.  There were bomber jackets, team jackets, faux leather, leather jackets, washed jean jackets, blazers, windbreakers and Members only.

We couldn’t wait for the weekend to watch shows like Fame, Miami Vice, Twenty One JumpStreet and In Living Color.  Artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, Boy George, Prince and Run D.M.C were very influential during that time in history.  Women and men bravely wore velour, shoulder pads, fat gold chains, thick shoe laces, chunky sneakers, sequins, loafers, rolled cuffed pants, spandex, leggings, leg warmers, stirrups, flight pants, parachute pants, graphic t-shirts, track suits, polos/prep shirts, jeans with various washes, metallic fabrics, ripped denims, with embellishments and  patchwork.  Madonna would grace the stage dressed in mini-skirts, crop tops, corset belts, naked dresses, bodysuits, scrunched socks, fish net stockings, oversized shirts, rompers, high waters suspenders and fingerless gloves.

The 80’s was known for being the most dauntless time in fashion history.  Some of the styles make us wanna smile while others make us wanna cringe.  You can rest assured we’ve taken the guess work out of finding that perfect 80’s look. Modern technology has taken the styles of yesterday to levels unforeseeable and our goal as we carefully selected each piece was to look for good quality pieces that shouted out boldness and uniqueness.  We’d like to call our pieces, modern, comfortable, and edgy but classy.  It was our pleasure to find hot trendy styles that not only look good on you but feel good too.

Google and Pinterest has noted a substantial amount of interest has been shown for the 80’s time period.  N.Y. Fashion Week trend takeaways:  If you liked the 80’s, you’re probably going to love fall 2018.  The 80’s have been on the way back since the later part of 2016 but we believe it is totally chic now.   This span of time was and is for the fun, flirty fashionista and the effortlessly elegant trendsetter.  The 80’s was undoubtedly a time for trend setting, and individuality at it’s best.  Let’s see what it brings to this age over 30 years later.
